Under the auspices of Sechenov University, a meeting of the Eurasian Association of Urologists was held as part of the ROU Congress. It was devoted to issues of urological practice in the region. The Eurasian Association of Urologists was established in 2023 at the initiative of Petr Glybochko, Chairman of the Russian Society of Urologists and Rector of Sechenov University. The EAAU facilitates interaction between various medical organizations to develop unified diagnostic and treatment approaches, provides expanded access to medical technologies, and helps realize mutual research interests.

"The Eurasian vector was formed with the goal of international cooperation with friendly countries," says Evgeny Bezrukov, Chairman of the EAAU and Vice-Rector for Innovation and Clinical Activities at Sechenov University. "We collaborate with colleagues from Eurasia on a wide range of issues: from diagnostics and treatment to healthcare system organization. A particular focus is the use of artificial intelligence in urology. And the EAAU offers a unique opportunity to share large databases for further AI training."

A seminar by the Eurasian Association of Urologists' School, "Systemic Treatment in Oncourology," was also held. It focused on drug therapy for urothelial cancer, kidney cancer, and prostate cancer. "Today, oncologists have a wide range of modern treatment options for these types of cancer. Their use at various stages of the disease allows for very good patient survival, even with widespread metastases," noted Anastasia Fatyanova, Chair of the EAAU School and Head of the Department of Antitumor Drug Therapy at Sechenov University's Clinical Hospital No. 4.

Boris Alekseev, Deputy Director General for Science at the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Russian Ministry of Health, and Yana Gridneva, oncologist and head of the oncology department at the City Clinical Hospital No. 1 of the Moscow Health Department, also shared their expertise with the seminar participants.

"It is important that our partners from the Eurasian Commonwealth perceive Sechenov University as a benchmark for a world-class research university and are ready to implement our experience in introducing scientific developments and new clinical methods. And within the framework of the EAAU, they will receive comprehensive assistance for this," concludes Evgeny Bezrukov.
